This 2 day course provides the skills needed to perform the advanced operations of Hitachi Tuning Manager. This course provides details and step-by-step instruction required to implement the Hitachi Data Systems Performance Management methodology. Besides addressing the creation of customized reporting and the implementation of alarms based on the analysis methodology, there is a special focus on using the Main Console and Performance Reporter command line interface (CLI). In addition, there are hands-on lab activities to prepare you to implement the performance management methodology and create custom reports for monitoring performance.

The course covers basic functions like adding a storage system, connecting to a service processor (SVP) and providing the user with the ability to initialize the array. You will learn how to create parity groups and the basic functions of pools and volumes. You will also learn how to provision volumes to the host. The course includes hands-on lab activities designed to build the skills necessary to use these key software products.

THI2452 - Configuring and Managing the Hitachi Compute Blade 500

This 3 day course provides a detailed overview of the architecture, key components, and product documentation of Hitachi Compute Blade 500 (CB 500) and Hitachi Compute Blade 2500 (CB 2500). You will learn how to use Hitachi Compute Systems Manager (HCSM) and access system consoles for system management, monitoring and maintenance. This course also will provide you information on the system network configuration and the supported operating systems. In addition, you will gain knowledge about the Hitachi logical partitioning (LPAR) features and learn how to configure and operate LPAR and N+M Cold Standby Plug-in for Hitachi Compute Systems Manager. You will also learn specific troubleshooting techniques for CB 500 and CB 2500 systems. This course includes numerous hands-on lab activities designed to build the skills necessary to manage CB 500 and CB 2500.

Details on the use of MxN Consistency (CT) Groups, Remote Replication Data Transport, and Hitachi Replication Manager are also presented. The classroom sessions are supported by lab exercises where you will learn to install, configure, and use Universal Replicator, 3DC, 3DC Async, 3DC Delta Resync, and MxNCT Groups on Hitachi storage platforms.

Hands-on lab activities enable you to gain practical knowledge and experience on installing, configuring and maintaining VSP G1x00 and VSP F1500 systems.

  2. Complete the five-year program with a positive cast balance of at least $20 million;
  3. Obtain an expected NPV of $50 million; and
  4. Make the program profitable in 3 years.
